Update Icons

Can I do this task?

When you create a new entity, default icons are provided. You can change the icons by uploading icons of your choice. Use the specifications in this topic when creating or ordering icons. You will need the icon files before you begin.

There are three types of icons:

Icon in Web application

Shortcut icon in Microsoft Dynamics CRM for Microsoft Office Outlook

Icon in Entity forms

  1. In the Navigation Pane, click Settings, click Customization, and then click Customize Entities.
  2. Select the entity, and then on the Actions toolbar, click More Actions, and then click Update Icons.
  3. In the Icon in Web application section, click Browse and select the icon.
  4. In the Shortcut icon in Microsoft Dynamics CRM for Microsoft Office Outlook section, click Browse and select the icon.
  5. In the Icon in Entity forms section, click Browse and select the icon.
  6. Click OK. The Unpublished Icon is updated and is displayed for the unpublished entity. When you publish customizations, the Published Icon is automatically updated to your new icon.
  7. When your customizations are complete, publish your customizations:
    • To publish customizations for the entity you are currently editing, on the Actions Action menu button menu, click Publish.
    • To publish customizations for all entities at once, open the Customize Entities list. On the More Actions menu, click Publish All Customizations.
    • To publish customizations for specific entities, open the Customize Entities list and select the entities you want to publish. On the Actions toolbar, click Publish.
