Monitoring and Managing System Jobs

System jobs are a type of process in Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online that can continue independently or in the background. When you use certain features in Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online, the application automatically starts system jobs (you do not need to choose whether to use a system job). Several Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online features use system jobs to perform tasks automatically, including workflows, import, and duplicate detection.

Monitoring system jobs

You can view the status of any system jobs that are currently active in Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online. By monitoring system jobs, you can review the status of these background processes to ensure that they are running smoothly or have completed successfully.

Managing system jobs

If there is a problem with a system job, you can cancel, postpone, pause, or resume it. For example, if a workflow action specified in a workflow failed to happen, you could view the error message listed in the system job to see what the problem is, cancel the job, and then try to resolve the underlying problem that caused the workflow job to fail.
