Running Reports and Analyzing Data

When you want to analyze data or view a report in Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online, there are several ways to view the relevant data:

• Run a default report A report that included in Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online. Default reports may have been customized or removed by your system administrator or system customizer.. More information: Default Reports
• Use Advanced Find to search for the subset of data you need. Then export the results list The summary view for a group of records, such as accounts or contacts, or the result of an Advanced Find query. You can view detailed information about a record by opening the form for the record. to a static A file that does not change when data changes in Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online. or dynamic A file that refreshes data from the Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online database each time it is opened. Microsoft Office Excel worksheet or a PivotTable A tool that you can use to reorganize and summarize selected columns and rows of data in a spreadsheet without changing the data. for further analysis. • Create your own report:
  • Use the Report Wizard A wizard that guides you through creating a report. Tasks include selecting data and deciding how data should be summarized and presented. to create a new Reporting Services report.   • Add any exported Excel file as a personal report, and share it with your colleagues, if warranted.

    Or, ask your system administrator or system customizer to add any exported Excel file as a report available to everyone in your organization. If the Excel file is dynamic, the data in the file will be refreshed any time the file is opened, and each person who runs the report will see data that only they have permission to see.
