Set up and configure Activity Feeds
To configure Activity Feeds, start by becoming familiar with how to import solutions and publish customizations. More information about importing solutions: Import a solution. More information about working with solutions: Package and Distribute Extensions with Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online Solutions.
Note:
For users upgrading to Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 , you must import the solution before you can set up and configure Activity Feeds.
In order for Activity Feeds to work on all browsers, you must upgrade to the most recent release of the Activity Feeds solution.
Import Activity Feeds
- Download the Activity Feeds solution from the marketplace. Visit the Marketplace.
- In the Navigation Pane, click Settings.
- Under Customization, click Solutions.
- On the Actions toolbar, click Import.
- Locate where you saved the file, and select ActivityFeeds.Managed.zip.
- On the Post Import Actions screen, select the box to enable SDK plug-ins. This box must be selected for Activity Feeds to function.
- If your server is not provisioned with all the languages included with this installation, you may see a warning after the import is complete. If the import is successful, you may ignore this warning.
- To verify that the import was successful, refresh the page. "What's New" will appear at the top of the Navigation Pane.
Configure Activity Feeds
- In the Navigation Pane, click Settings.
- Under System, click Activity Feeds Configuration.
- Add the entities listed in the table below. (If you are using the most recent build of Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online, skip this step and the next step). To do this, add the entity logical name (note that these are case-sensitive), click Save, and repeat for each entity.
- When you have added the entities, select them all under Post Configurations. Note that systemuser is created for you automatically.
- To publish these entities, click the Customize tab, and click All Customizations. This will activate the entities.
Important
You may see the error message "Multiple main forms are present," which means you will need to manually add record walls to a new form. More information: Add record walls to a form

- Under System, click Activity Feeds Configuration.
- In the Post Configurations pane, select the entity you want.
- On the Filters tab, in the Filters grid, select the entity you want, and then select Show or Hide in the ribbon above.
